The two main fights in UFC 196 were Conor McGregor Vs Rafael dos Anjos and Holly Holm Vs Miesha Tate. Both fights were tittle belts and it was set to be the biggest UFC night of the year.
After defeating the previous women’s Bantamweight title holder Ronda Rousey, Holly
Holm quickly took the opportunity to defend her new title against Miesha Tate. Both girls held their ground for most the fight. After the 3rd round Holly was winning. IN the 4th and final round Miesha fought with all her might and won the title by submission.
The McGregor Vs dos Anjos fight was to be Conor’s first fight after going up one weight divisions to Lightweight. Two weeks before the fight dos Anjos has to pull out after he
broke his foot in training. Nate Diaz a fighter from California took up the opportunity to fight the Featherweight champion.
I felt that the first round was dominated by McGregor but he hadn’t anticipated for it to continue onto another round. He got week and sloppy and in the end lost the fight to Diaz by submission.
Eyes are now set on what fights are going to be announced for UFC 200 early next year.
